Ten Toes Down

Skenes Creek, Australia

Depending on what you believe in the future may look really shaky right now. Although it may seem like the worst of times history tells us that is not so…yet. Humanity rebounded from the 1348 Bubonic Plague and the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918. Here in the US we kinda sorta kept going after the 1968 Summer of Hate and the Covid-19 global pandemic was almost five years ago now.

The Black History Month favorite Martin Luther King Jr is quoted as saying, “We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice.

My personal favorite Black hero( Hi Mummy) says, “Don’t worry. You will live long enough to see dem thump dey toe and break dey neck.” She has not steered me wrong in the decades I’ve been alive. Therefore, on this first day in February of the year 2025, do not despair. Be encouraged. Keep your head high and remember the words of Nipsey Hussle- the marathon continues.

Happy Black History Month!

Hey wow what beautiful scenery and words to reflect on. I’m a tad bit more cynical with my comfort and refer back to “nothing new under the sun” but, I do like a good old spicy Caribbean saying. My dad often likes to retort that “if you spit in the sky it will fall in your eye” … Oh and loving the new web design by the way :)

Ha! Love those spicy Caribbean sayings. I’m glad you like the new design! With the craziness in the world I decided to refocus on my creative outlet.

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.
