Fragrances – Winter Rotation – 2025/2026

Hi folks,

Spring is reportedly, allegedly upon us. It did snow in some areas of the US last week but in my neck of the woods spring is peeking her head out. Come outside girl we not gonna jump you.

While I waited for spring to roll around I used the three fragrances posted above the most this winter. House of Bō’s Espiritu was reviewed here. Gucci Flora was reviewed here.

Celine Black Tie(100ml pictured above) according to their site has notes of: White orris butter, Cedar, Tree moss, Vanilla and Musk. In case you’re like me and didn’t know what white orris butter was, I’ve got you. White orris butter is a solid essential oil distilled from the stems of the Iris plant that grow just below or above the surface. I can’t say that I can detect that when I spray it. I do definitely get the vanilla. I consider Black Tie a woodsy vanilla. Elegant gets used a lot to describe it and I’d agree. If you lean more towards gourmand(distinctly edible smells) fragrances this might not be for you. It doesn’t remind me of anything baked. I find the projection to be moderate. It’s not a screecher that you can smell across the room but people in your personal radius will notice it. Longevity on my skin is about 5 hours but I’ve found that this is the type of fragrance that if you spray it on a jacket the scent will still be there months later. This is the perfect fragrance to spray on an article of clothing that you accidentally on purpose leave behind to remind a special someone of you. I did reach for it a lot this winter but I do think it can be worn year round. We will see if I reach for it this spring.

Have a great week!

Sounds like they all smell great :) !! I love perfume posts and you always have a fancy array :)!!

If you don’t mind me being nosey what made you get into perfume?I don’t consider myself a very stylish person (going to try and change that) but I do consider perfume as part of my “style” and I wonder if you view it the same.

I know that you with your top notch eye shadow and lipstick game are not telling me that you don’t consider yourself a stylish person. Nay, I disagree! As for me to badly paraphrase the late great AndrΓ© Leon Talley as far back as I can remember I have been starving for beauty in all forms! Now how that has manifested over time is probably part of what led me to start this blog. I include perfume under the umbrella of beauty and definitely think it’s part of a person’s style. Not to be too dramatic but I think in these perilous times your style can be a source of strength. Thank you for another engaging question and take care!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.
