May 🌱 2026

Hi folks,

May is the month of renewal, growth and joy. In the US Memorial Day at the end of May is the unofficial start of the summer season but summer doesn’t start until June 21st this year so pace yourself. I spent most of May outside in one place or another taking what I like to call my National Geographic photos. I’m convinced there’s some version of me in some parallel universe that works for National Geographic. I read that they no longer have staff photographers and instead work with freelance photographers. I think that’s kind of sad but independent contractors, gig workers and freelancers seem to be the way most of the industries are headed as they advance with AI. That’s a story for another day.  Let’s all be work optional by the time they start having zoom calls with robots that could have been an email 😂.

Have a great week!

Lovely photos! Yes, it is a shame that companies seem to be actively going out of their way to avoid paying for creativity on a regular basis. I am not an AI fan but, I have at times used it to see its remits and hear its assessments on things that have been interesting. I asked AI to surmise my blog and it gave me an interesting take (that I will share one day when I get around to it).

Anyway, I thought the main point of robots was to take all the boring jobs but instead companies are using it to take the fun ones that they likely never saw any value in (art/literature/music etc.). So sad :(

Side note … Peonies are really having their season. I have been seeing them unusually in-store and I am taking it as a sign that I should get a bunch soon (hehe). Thanks for the update – there is still so much more life to be had :)

You should definitely get a bunch of peonies and take pictures of them as they open up! Yes, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for humanity and AI. Thanks for stopping by :)
