I’m always in lipstick in the pictures on the blog but that’s not what happens in my day to day life. I’ve been on a mission to wear more lipstick lately, and the nice ladies at the YSL counter at Bloomingdale’s were more than happy to help me on my quest. I wanted something bright but not red. After a couple swatches we came up with the two pretties above, YSL Rouge-Le Orange ($35 for .13 oz) and the GlossVolupte-Corail Trapeze ($32 for .20 fl oz).

Le Orange is a bright creamy lipstick that is lightly scented and has an SPF of 15 per the specs. Wear time for me is about 2-3 hours but I’m always eating something so it would probably be a little more than that for the average gal. It’s highly pigmented so it leaves a slight stain after it wears off.

The sales lady suggested the gloss to “make the lipstick pop.” It’s cute, and I have tried it over the lipstick as you’ll see in the pics below but I’m not sold on needing them both. On its own it gives me just a hint of color on my lips. I think I need to try it over some of my other lipsticks to see if it’s a keeper.
Now before you go on let me warn you that I have a big head. In retrospect I probably should have been farther away from the camera but what’s done is done. Double click at your own risk.
I told you. I’m wearing the Rouge Pur Couture- Le Orange above on its own. I think it’s a nice spring/summer look.
And here it is with the gloss. I’ve worn it both ways out and to work and the feedback has been positive. I hate returning things so I will likely just end up keeping both.
What lippies are highly favored in your rotation as we head in to summer?
