I’ll admit I might be being a teensie bit dramatic with that title but I can’t understand why in recent years I haven’t been able to finish a planner. Like legions of people on earth I’ll buy one at the start of the year. By February I’ll have slacked off on using it and by June I won’t be able to find it. Then I’ll buy another one and use that for a couple of months until I slack off then I misplace it and the cycle repeats itself as a new year starts. I’ll have you know there was a time when I had plenty of stick-to-itiveness when it came to obsessively planning and tracking various aspects of my life. Take a look at these posts from back in 2011 here and 2012 here. I can tell you this woman in 2020 hurtling through her days does not recognize that girl in 2011 who worked out every. single. day. But damn she must have been something special.
I’m going to as the kids say keep it 100. I don’t have the type of enthusiasm that I did back in 2011 for anything in the present day(except for maybe candles) so I’m going to try one of the most proven and powerful motivators for women of a certain age. That’s right shame. I am publicy declaring that 2021 will be the year I will actually finish the planner(s) that I’ve bought and nobody likes to fail publicly. I’m going to use the small one to track my workouts but let’s be very clear I am NOT going to be working out every day. I’m also not going to be one of those impressive people who have the tricked out planners with the tabs and color themes. I can’t write in a straight line if the paper isn’t lined so in all things you have to know yourself. I am proclaiming that I am going to use the planners for their intended use which is not scrap paper for the following year. The medium sized one I’m going to use for my day to day life excluding workouts. The bigger one I bought because I couldn’t find the medium sized one and of course as soon as I bought that one the medium sized one appeared. But no worries because the medium sized one only goes to June of 2021 so all three of them can be used up. At least that’s the plan. Let’s circle back in March God willing for a progress check.
