This is what I wore

Jacket: J-Crew
Shirt: Calvin Klein
Belt: J-Crew
Pants: Banana Republic
Shoes: B. Markowsky: SEEN HERE
Bag: Marks & Spencer

I’m still hanging out at my sis’s place and taking pics. She and the rest of the family will be heading back to their pre-holiday lives soon and I’m going to miss them.
This outfit got a good reception at work. I’m sure part of it was that it’s hard to see an electric pink shirt and not smile. I’m also sure they were probably pleased to see me not dressed like a referee. I can’t promise I’ll be giving up my standby of black and white for work, but I am going to try to add some more color to my wardrobe.

I bought the jacket in the pic above from J-Crew about two or three years ago. I know blazer might be a more appropriate description but I don’t like that word. Somehow when I was younger I got it into my head that only old, uncool people with soulless jobs working for “the man” wore blazers.  Now that I’m old and uncool and work for “the man” all the delusions of my youth have been doused with the harsh reality of life(aka my mortgage) I’ve begrudgingly come to terms with the blazer. I know modern day blazers are stylish and come in lovely colors, textures etc. but old feelings die hard so when I wear one, I will call it a jacket.  Humor me.

I’m slowly adding to my my list of things I never thought I would use, wear, or do as the years roll by. Blazers, shape wear, insoles, turning my music down because it’s too loud, Bengay, magnifying glass disguised as a paperweight, brightening eye creams,  someone, anyone? Do you have a list?

I'm glad to see thaf you're coming to realize the glory and functionality of the blazer! Also this look makes you look very long and modelesque. Nice!
