I spent the fourth of July with the family in Washington D.C. It was the first visit for me so I spent some time catching up on my American History in the sweltering heat. Having just come from Italy it was very interesting for me to note the Italian influences in the DC architecture. I also felt a strong French vibe, particularly around the basin which I later found out was designed by French- born architect Pierre Charles L’Enfant

So to sum it up, I saw, I ate, I took pictures, and I learned some stuff. It was a good trip. Extremely hot but good.

What’s influencing you lately?

Things I’m happy about/looking forward to/grateful for this week:

– I did laundry!!!

– My pretty mani

– The Olympics

– It’s still summer

– I have a job

– You guys

I went to DC a few weeks ago with my fam – I wish I had more time to eat and check out more museums. Did you walk around the entire Tidal Basin area too? It was a long day or walking and looking for us, especially with a 6yo nephew!
