Me Before You is the story of Will and his newly hired caregiver/companion Louisa. When Louisa is thrust on him Will is barely a shell of his former uber-successful self. In the beginning they are a study in contrasts. One is cynical and surly while the other is hopeful and kind. There is a fair amount of predictability in how their relationship develops but it didn’t detract from the story for me. I felt the author deftly used Louisa and Will to tell a tale of loss, love, the importance of living every day to the fullest, and the power of choice.
I read this book last year and everyone (all two of them) I recommended it to loved it. A movie based on the book is reportedly coming out in June of 2016. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you read it. Also, let me know what you’re reading now. I added a currently reading section in the upper right side of the blog page.
Have a great week!
