I’ve been trying to revamp my wardrobe to add more color and anything but black pants. I spied the top above during a recent trip to Target and decided to try it on along with some pants that were nearby. The top is from Target’s Mossimo line which I like. They usually have cute, inexpensive, good quality pieces. The top was 19.99 and my Target had them in the orange color shown, a deep purple and a tealish blue. I got the orange and the purple.
More after the break…
The pants from Target clearly were a miss. My regular size was too loose in the hip and thigh area and the length was too short. I’ve been having the hardest time finding pants. If the pants are the right length then the fit is too snug. If the fit is good in the hip, waist and thigh, then it’s too short, and I can’t stand a pair of pants that are too short. I usually take the long option if offered and the fit is right, and then have the pants hemmed an inch and a 1/2.
The pants above are from Express. The royal blue pair, is a regular length from their Columnist barely boot line. The brown pair was also a regular length Extreme Flare Columnist pant. The saleperson told me the extreme flare is a new addition to their Columnist line.
I liked the color and the fit of the blue pair. The brown pair was not love at first sight. I liked the flared leg( it didn’t seem particularly extreme to me) I wasn’t too crazy about the fit in the hip and thigh. I twirled around some more in the dressing room and it grew on me so I ended up getting both pairs, which I felt were pretty true to size.
The unfortunate situation above happened in The Limited. I died laughing when I saw the pic to the right. Why does it look as if I’m wearing a skirt…..? I liked the idea of the pants. They are a very nice pair of pants, and they were half off. They are higher waisted, with a nice light beige tweedish print and a wide leg. That sounds great doesn’t it? On me live and in person unfortunately…. not so much.
The great pant hunt continues.
