Diptyque Satin Oil for Body and Hair (3.4 oz/$60) |
The gentle influence of jasmine absolute enhances the natural beauty of both hair and body leaving the skin soft, soothed and satiny and the hair bright and glossy. Its light, silky texture with a base of avocado oil and refined urucum oil delights the skin with its moisturizing, nourishing and renewing virtues while warding off skin aging. The warm, honey and spicy notes of Jasmine, ylang ylang and saffron add a voluptuous touch. Source
I had some samples of Diptyque’s Body Butter and Satin Oil from my candle and perfume purchases. I liked them so much I decided to pick up the full size offerings from my local Nordstrom. My skin tends to be very dry so I usually prefer heavier body creams and oils.
Diptyque’s Rich Butter for the Body has a nice thick consistency that melts quickly into my skin leaving it soft and moisturized with a light floral scent that lingers throughout the day. The Satin Oil for Body and Hair is non-greasy and works well as a moisturizer on its own or layered with your favorite body lotion. It gives my hair a nice sheen without weighing it down.
Both the body butter and the satin oil come packaged in beautiful and weighty glass containers with the signature Diptyque lettering. I’d been lusting after them for quite some time and as I expected based on the samples they did not disappoint. At their price points I would not consider them must haves but I would highly recommend them if you are looking to treat yourself to something luxurious.
Tell me about some bath and body products you’ve been lusting over. Here in otc land we (I, myself and me) have been eyeing the Le Labo body oils and perfumes. I’d love to hear from you if you’ve tried anything from them.

It looks so very luxurious! I had a look at Le Labo and I really love how it looks and what's it about. The Fleur D' Oranger sounds nice – they all do. It reminds me of Apivita (also has no parabens etc) and "& other stories" for some reason – both which I have some lust for especially Apivita *drools 🙂
I think my next perfume purchase will be from Le Labo. I'm currently loving Bronze Goddess.
I have a diptique candle that I never burn. The only time I did, I ended up with the most insane headache. It's made me a bit wary of the products. But these products seem heavenly. Are they heavily scented? I recently bought one of the shea moisture body scrubs. It is just the right about of sugar and oil. And very luxurious for being less than $10, you should check them out.http://ahhhsoneo.com
Which one of their candles was it? The products in this review are very fragrant but not overpoweringly so in my opinion. I reviewed my favorite Shea Butter scrub no too long ago.
It's good when you can buy a product after using the samples. My skin is a little funny when it comes to scented products, so I use DIY product with raw she butter, oils, and lavender. Great post!
Shea butter:)
Thanks Nerline! You are my DIY queen.
Great Review and lovely pictures. The Satin oil sounds appealing to me.
I like it. Let me know if you try it.
wow I definitely want to try these products! http://www.thebikinifashionista.com/
🙂
I'm going to invest in the satin oil. I can appreciate a product that you can use for more than one purpose. I love the feel of satin. My daughters skin is a reminder of how your skin should feel.
If you try it let me know 🙂
