Set of 3 small holiday candles with carousel. Red- Exquisite Almond, Blue- Amber Balm and Green- Pine Tree of Light

Indoor/Outdoor Feu De Bois Candle/ 51.3 oz
Dearly beloveds the holidays are upon us. I know some people were already mentally at this point in November. I however refused to be rushed. So now that it is the first day of December I am ready to admit that this is really happening.
Every year around this time I look forward to the Diptyque holiday collection. This year’s theme was the legend of the North. Each of the three holiday candles represent a traveller from the other three directions with special powers. The South traveller came from where the mountains contained caves with almonds and glass.(Red candle) From the West where the seas hid strange treasures the traveller came with seawater and a pearl.(Blue candle) The East traveller from the lands where pine trees touched the sky came with pine needles. (Green candle) As the story goes on the longest night of the year all three travellers met in the North to discover its secret. You can find out what the secret was here.
Of the three holiday candles the pine is usually my least favorite and this year was no different. It’s nice but pine isn’t really at the top of my list when it comes to fragrances. I do love the almond and amber candles though. If I was forced to pick only one I would choose the amber balm. It’s moody and earthy but with a sweetness to it. Kind of like your favorite opinionated, book loving, occasional yoga going auntie who is always traveling to some interesting place but never forgets your birthday. * cough, cough*
And now a word on this years packaging. Well actually three words. I love it. There are many great candle brands out there in a range of price points but Diptyque’s branding and aesthetic are top-tier. I could see this years holiday print as wall paper in a very chic powder room or framed and hung on a wall. They knocked it out of the park with the graphics and the color scheme. You can find my review of the Diptyque 2017 and 2016 holiday collections here and here. Let me know which year is your favorite.
Happy holidays to all the ladies and gents who take time out your day to visit this wee corner of the interwebs. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holidays to you too. I used to dislike the fact that the stores try to force the holidays upon us as early as November by their décor and endless sales and discounts but I really do not mind anymore. I enjoy seeing all the early Christmas décor and seeing the holiday commercials on TV. I even put up my Christmas tree earlier than usual this year..:-) Beautiful candles; the theme for this year is really cool.

Some years I can hold out until December and some years not so much. This year November was such a blur that I woke up on Saturday like oh gee it’s the holidays.
I thought the theme this year was great too. Diptyque always does such a good job. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a beautiful holiday season and a happy new Year.

Hi Nerline. I haven’t heard any complaints about the holiday collection this year. It seems to be universally loved. I kept a couple of the candle boxes from the 2016 Diptyque holiday collection and I’ll definitely be doing that for this year’s as well.
Hi doll,
You definitely should.
This collection is stunning! I can see why you like Diptique – the brand really takes the effort to create a story for their candles making it not just about the beautiful (minus pine lol) scents and gorgeous packaging.
I can’t believe its so close to Christmas and the new year 😮!! BTW Pretty Decorations 😊

Happy New Year! I feel like once you stop believing in Santa Claus the holidays are over in a blink of an eye 🙂 I do love a brand that really puts in the work for their aesthetic. Diptyque always gets it right.
I hope you had a good break. Thanks for stopping by this little corner of the inter webs!
